Paintedsoul found the grassland rather comforting. Exposed to the warming sun her painted coat shined. Eariler in the day she spend her time to clean her pelt. Something she did everyday, but now she is in the warrior mode. No longer the pretty she-cat mode, but a rock-hard and powerfull warrior. Flexing her lean muscles as she found the normaly used path to a fresh hunting ground.
Her mouth opened in what looked like a loud yawn but no sound came out. Instead she welcomed the scents of the forest trying to find something. As she dropped into her hunting crouch she pawed her way toward a vole. Keeping her pawsteps light on the ground below to keep the vole from hearing her steps.
The prey was within jumping range. Dropping her body and lowering herself to a perfect jumping postion she steady herself. The vole sat there eating a berrie of some kind. Lunging out she jumped gracefully and landed squarely on the ground. The vole caught in her front paws, biting the neck it was done for. Paintedsoul remaind holding the vole on behalf of the fact another one scurried toward her. She wasn't sure if she should kill that one to. But she did, slashing it with a swift paw. Knocking it off it's feet ulitmatly it wa s dead. Looking around for other vole-eaters, she buried the prey. Now that her warrior mode was on low she turned on the she-cat mode. Laying out she rested her head on the ground and started to clean her paws. It was a simple task but she didn't have anything to do at the moment

A flash of gray pelt barely betrayed the position of the small she cat as she darted through the waving golden grass, head and tail low and paws thudding dully against the ground. Her jaws parted wide to take in the scents of the air around her. I know she came this way... now where'd she go? Wolfpaw's ocean green and yellow eyes flashed as she peered through the thin golden stems surrounding her like a spindly forest. All around her, the smells of flowers, moss, and pollen assaulted her senses like heavy perfume, making it hard to catch the scent of the other she-cat.
Continuing to trot through the waving grass, the strong scent of fresh vole hit her like the blow from a badger's paw. "Oh!" She huffed, blinking. Apparently, the she-cat she was searching for had made a kill. After sniffing arond briefly, Wolfpaw dashed off in the direction the scent trail led. The cat-scent grew stronger the farther she ran.
Then, bursting through a cover of grass, Wolfpaw promply tripped over Paintedsoul's hindquarters and was sent sprawling in the dust with a muffled yowl.
Rolling back onto her feet, Wolfpaw shook out her fur. "Paintedsoul! There you are!" She huffed, a little out of breath. "Hi. Um. Can I tag along? Just for a while? I haven't had a chance to get out much lately..." She looked at the calico she-cat with wide pleading eyes, her tail quivering expectantly.

(I'm really Sorry I never saw this post -hugs- I feel bad but I will keep a better eye on it. ) Anyone could hear a cat move about. Untrained and not thinking clearly a appertiace tripped over Paintedsoul as she rested. She knew the she-cat was coming half the forest would know. Her trashing and loud mouth was a dead give away, Wolfpaw was in the building.
Paintedsoul remained calm, using one paw to move into a sitting position. She gave the apprentice a moment to compose herself before nodding. Wolfpaw would make a fine warrior, Paintedsoul enjoyed the company of a fresh loud apprentice. It had been moons since she was like that, she smiled sweetly.
"How can I deine you Wolfpaw. I need to teach you a thing or two about being silent. even when searching. Prey is scarce in leaf-fall, we need all we can get. " She wasn't harsh or mean she meant every word. It was a prime time to teach an apprentice about being silent. Wolfpaw might regret the idea of finding Paintedsoul in such a loud manner but in the long run it was worth it.
"Now Wolfpaw why not training. It will benefit both your hunting and fighting skills. Most time you need to stalk your prey. Other time you need to stalk your enemies. " Paintedsoul flicked her tail keeping the apprentice's attention on herself.
"I want you to walk back 4 fox-length and come at me being silent. Try to pounce on me. When i hear you I want you to go back. Simple enough but it is a prized hunting and fighting skill. Learning it quickly." She added pointing with her tail toward a awkward direction.
"Go now" She mowed with a sweet smile, Wolfpat was in for a long train lesson. Paintedsoul was a great stalker, silent and deadly. Perfect for this lesson, she had her foster mother and mentor Rosepetel to thank for that.

(( Lol, no worries. x3 I didn't reply to it for ages, so we're cool. C: ))
Wolfpaw sat attentively in front of Paintedsoul, her back straight, ears pricked, and whiskers quivering. Her wide ocean green eyes gazed at her mentor with unconcealed admiration, making her look like a kit looking up to the leader. Though she would never admit it out loud, Wolfpaw idolized both Paintedsoul and Devilstar. Her mentor and her leader were the two most important figures in her life.
Wolfpaw listened with rapt attention to every word Paintedsoul told her, trying to remember everything she said. Stalking and being silent is the most important thing, both for hunting and fighting... right. She recited in her head, kneading the ground with her claws.
The instant Paintedsoul gave her the assignment, she sprang to her paws, tail straight out behind her. "Right! I got this." Her eyes changed for doting to determined, and quietly she slipped off in the direction mentioned. Pacing off four fox-lengths, she turned and eyed her path. Taking a deep breath and holding it, she started creeping forward slowly, placing her paws with painful precision. Silent, silent. She concentrated, eyes narrowing.

Giving a small nod as Wolpaw left Paintedsoul settled into a calm and silent composer. Her head resting softly, at a high angle tail wrapped around her paws. Slowly her fur pricked up feeling the tension of the air waiting for Wolfpaw. Clearing her mind and opening her ear, straining them to hear all and every sound, she dirifted into a flashback.
It was her and Rosepetal she was doing this same lesson. Rosepetel was recovering from a sprain in her paw Paintedsoul (paw at the time) was wiggling her tail around in quick circles. She waited for Rosepetel to give the word and with a slight nod Paintedpaw bolted into the grass hiding herself well. Quickly covering over 4 fox-lengths she stoped and turned around on the spot. Holding herself low to the ground tail tucked underneath her out of sight. Straining each pawstep to remain silent she crawled forward, keeping her own ears erect. Slowly Rosepetel's pelt came into view, the other she-cat didn't see the appertince, as Paintedpaw sprang forward pushing Rosepetal to the ground a hard task but she did it. Standing over her mentor and foster mother she glowed bright with such pride in herself.
Paintedsoul blinked a few time removing the images of Rosepetal and herself keeping her mind on the task ahead. Her ears flicked at the smallet crack of the grass. Turning toward the sound she lowerd herself and ready. Wolfpaw's gray body was easy to see, her sound gave her away, "I can see you Wolfpaw She chuckled keeping herself low almost hunting Wolfpaw. Her tail whipped around a soft purr exiting her maw.
